British Airways Question

Hello All,

I was just wondering if somebody could help me with a question. How
often does British Airways fly from London to Belgrade (Serbia)?. Is
it daily?. Also how often per day?. I was also wondering if any other
airlines fly direct from London to Belgrade?. Also is it cheaper to
change at an airport to get to Belgrade (if it is even possible) and
how much is a normal standard class return?.

Sorry for all the questions and thanks in advance.

www.ba.com will have timetables and prices for BA.

Jugoslav also flies this route - see www.jat.com.

BA timetable is on their website as the last reply said.

I don't think there is a budget airline UK to Belgrade. Maybe you can do it
via a budget flight to Germany and another from there to Belgrade.
This site will help you find budget airlines http://www.whichbudget.com/en/

This one may get you cheap tickets on BA flights http://www.opodo.co.uk/

Lufthansa flies daily from Heathrow to Belgrade, via Frankfurt or Munich,
about four times daily. Cheapest return, in July, is around £176.

Fares vary a lot by day, but on some days BA has a $374 round trip.

Low cost carrier Germanwings flies from Stanstead to Colone or
Stuttgart and from either of those to Belgrade, but by the time you
buy the two tickets, it's no cheaper.

The cheapest way from London to Belgrade would probably be via
Budapest and then the train to Belgrade. Be warned, it's about 7
hours, though!

(incidentally. if the OP is looking for information with regards to
the Exit festival then Stansted - Sarmellek/Balaton with FR then coach
is another option.)

Feel I should point out (even though this is going to some "air"
groups) that a more environmentally friendly way to make the journey
is by train.

It's a three day journey if you just want to travel during the days
(say London-Cologne day 1, Cologne-Vienna day 2, Vienna-Belgrade day
3) or maybe two days using sleeper trains. But a lot nicer, in so many
ways, than taking the 'plane!

Thanks to evryone for the help. The reason i asked is because i was
planning on going to the Eurovision (yes im crazy!) next year and was
wondering if the prices would skyrocket like they did for Finland this
year. Because the accomodation also goes quickly im thinking of
booking that first and then taking a risk on booking a flight when
they become available. At the moment BA goes up to the month i want to
fly (May 2008) but not the date just yet. Do they usually put on more
(or less) flights when there is a big gathering at a country?.

Cheers once again.

What about flying to Croatia or Slovenia, which are served by some budget
airlines, and getting a bus or train from there?

Yes, but it is less 'people friendly' or less 'family friendly'.
This is because it costs people more time which is by far the most
sought after commodity which is literally priceless... factored
against a relatively small burden on the environment.

I can certainly see the romantic charm. Which is fine if you have
no responsibilities in your life or no other demands on your time.

Well, that depends. There are plenty of night trains in that area so they
needn't take too much extra time, especially if you're flying part of the
way.

Possible routes by plane+train:
EZY to Ljubliana then train
Wizz, BA to Sofia then train
BA, Charter flight to Thessaloniki then train
FR, Wizz, Jet2, Air Berlin, BA to Budapest then train

http://www.bahn.co.uk/ for the train timetables.

Hello

Have a look at www.jatlondon.com or at www.jat.com
The cheapest way is London-Belgrade by JAT or British Airways. Every
stopover makes it more expensive.

...Jatairways is the national carrier of Serbia...I flew often with
Jatairways to Serbia, Montenegro and Bosnia. Regarding the statistics
of the past 40 years, they are one of the safest air transportation
companys.

BA and JAT fly non stop, daily (JAT fly twice on Sautrdays).

You can also get there on Air France, Lufthansa, Swiss, Alitalia, Austrian,
Czech all of which involve a change of planes (e.g. Swiss at Zurich).

Try the obvious online players like Opodo, Expedia and EBookers. Then hit
the phones to Trailfinders and your local agencies. If you contact an
independent agency ask then if they work with Travel 2 or Gold Medal.
